Day 01: Cusco – Ocongate - Tinqui
7:00a.m Hotel pick up time. Start of the tour on a bus that will take us through a route to Puerto Maldonado. Lunch in Tinki, (3800 masl). The Ausangate snow-capped mountain is clearly visible from there. Dinner. Overnight in camp.
Day 02: Tinqui - Upis
After a hot breakfast, we will begin the trek to reach the base of the Ausangate Mountain, where the panorama of the snow-capped peaks is amazing. Lunch. Optional tour to Upis Hot Springs. Dinner. Overnight in camp.
Day 03: Upis - Quinsacocha
After breakfast, we will ascend by the steep slopes up to 4,500 masl. After passing Pucacocha Lake to the west side of the Ausangate Mountain, we will see big and impressive ice formations very close to us. Lunch. Dinner. Ovenight in camp.
Day 04: Quinsacocha - Pampaccahua
After breakfast, we will continue our trek passing by beautiful turquoise lakes, after reaching the top of the Palomani Pass (4,800 masl), where the eastern south view of the Ausangate Mountain and the Cordillera Vilcanota are simply amazing. We will have lunch there so we can later descend towards Chilcapinaya where we will camp. Dinner. Overnight in camp.
Day 05: Pampaccahua - Jampa
Breakfast. Visit to the local communities whose inhabitants wear native dresses. Lunch. Continue of the trek towards Ticllacocha Lake; where we will go through the last Pass (4,650 masl) for later arrival to Pachaspata. We will camp there, but if time allow us, we will camp by the Q’omercocha Lake. Dinner. Overnight in camp.
Day 06: Jampa - Pacchanta
After breakfast, we will start the descend feeling the change of temperature. We will reach Pacchanta town for lunch time. After a good break, we may be able to rest and enjoy some time in the Hot Springs of this area. Overnight in camp.
Day 07: Pacchanta - Cusco
Breakfast. This final day, we will make a short trek in the Puna grassland passing by small communities of peasants. Lunch time. After this, we will take a bus that will take us back to Cusco. End of the tour.
